Did you know that Google Analytics can be integrated with ClickFunnels? It’s true, and it’s not something that happens overnight. You have to actively add the tracking code to the pages where you desire for it to work. Let’s get started.

Step 1: Visit Google Analytics and Create a New Account

As with any other website owner, the first step to getting Google Analytics up and running on your site is to visit https://analytics.google.com and create an account. You’ll need to give your account a unique identifier, which you can do by clicking on the orange button that says Create an account. You can also find this unique identifier by visiting your dashboard in Google Analytics and looking under the Account heading.

The very next step is to click on the Button next to Get started and then click on the Get code. This will download the necessary tracking code to your computer.

Step 2: Install the Code to the Pages You Need

Now that you have the code, you need to install it to the pages where you need it to track. This is simply accomplished by opening https://wordpress.com in your browser and going to Settings and looking for the Tracking option. You’ll see a box with the name of your website in it. Just click on the box and the tracking code will be placed on the page.

Remember: You can always go back and remove the code at any time using the standard settings button.

Step 3: Test Your New Code

Once your code is installed, it’s time to test it. To do this, simply go to any of your site’s pages and click on the Track this page button that appears under the heading Behavior in your dashboard.

If everything is set up correctly, you’ll see a Google Analytics logo and a small “+” symbol at the top of your screen. If you’re visiting a different website, you’ll have to come back and click on the button to bring up your site’s dashboard.

Once in your dashboard, you can click on Pages along the top menu and find the page you just tested. You can also click on the page name to go directly to that page in your browser.

If you see a green light next to the page name, then the code is installed and working correctly. You can also click on the Reports button to access more detailed information about the activity on that page.

If you see a red cross next to the page name, then this means there was a problem with the installation or that the code is not working properly.

Step 4: Configure the Tracking Code As Needed

As you may have guessed, there is more than one way to use Google Analytics. You may want to track a certain set of pages on your site or you might want to track the entire site. To make this choice, you’ll need to look at the code that you have already installed on your site. If you’re unfamiliar, you can always find this code in the Settings area of your Dashboard in Google Analytics. This is the code you’ll need to scroll down and find:

/* Google Analytics */

When you find this code, you’ll want to look for a line of text that starts with ga(“ followed by a “”, which is a placeholder for a website’s ID. Just below this line, you’ll see a “set“. This is where you tell Google Analytics which set of pages you’d like to track. The default is all pages, which is the whole site. To track a certain set of pages, replace the word “

” with the number 1 through 3 (or any other set you’d like to track).

For example, if you have a blog for your site and you want to track the home page, the about page, and the contact page, you would enter **1, 2, 3** in the place of the quotation marks. Doing this will cause those three pages to be tracked by Google Analytics.

Step 5: Once You’re Satisfied That It Works, Publish

When you’re happy with how your site is tracking, it’s time to publish. To do this, simply go to https://wordpress.com and look for the Publish button atop your blog post. Once you’ve clicked on this button, your blog post will be live on the internet. If you’d like, you can also choose to publish the post immediately or you can choose to save it as a draft first.

This entire process of adding Google Analytics to your site is fairly straightforward. Simply follow the steps and you’ll have a functioning analytics tool integrated with your site in no time.
