Are you considering migrating to a new platform? Maybe you’re tired of the limited features on ClickFunnels and want something more powerful. Luckily, you can export your data and use it on any platform you want. This article is going to walk you through the process of exporting your ClickFunnels data for easy migration later on. Let’s get started.

Follow the Guide Step-by-Step

To get started, you’ll first need to login to your account on the dashboard of your website. Then, click on “Settings” in the top right corner of the dashboard. Once in settings, scroll down to the bottom and click on “Downloads” to see a list of your previous downloads. You’ll see a bunch of.CSV files there. You can also generate an export code along with the CSV files by clicking on the “Download Custom Code” button. Just type in the code below in the pop-up window and click “Download” to complete the process:

Your code will look like this:

  • EF-CLICKFUNNELS
  • 12345
  • February 2018

You’ll notice two things about this code. The first is that it’s extremely basic – it’s just an export code. The second thing you’ll see is that this code is extremely long. That’s because all the fields from your database need to be included in this file. If you’ve ever done any kind of massive data migration before, this will seem like a walk in the park!

Import the Data into Your New Platform

With your export code in hand, you can now import the data into your new platform. You’ll simply need to follow the instructions that are provided with your CSV file. Make sure to save all the files in a safe place so you can continue along later.

There will be a few steps to take to import your data into your new platform. For the purposes of this article, we’ll be using ClickFunnels. However, this process will be almost identical for most any platform. The only difference will be in the import tool itself (e.g., Google Forms, Microsoft Excel, etc.).

Here’s what you need to do:

Login To The Admin Area Of Your New Site (If Needed)

The first step is to login to the admin area of your new site (if needed). This is where all the settings are located for your new site. If you’ve never logged in to this area before, you’ll need to do so now (from your old site). You can also click on the “Account” button in the upper right corner to log in no matter where you are on the site. When you login, you’ll be taken to your dashboard. From here, choose “Settings” in the left menu and then scroll down to the bottom to choose “Data” to download your exported CSV file.

If you’ve already logged into the admin area of your new site, you can continue on to the next step.

Install The Import Tool (If Needed)

The second step is to install the import tool (if needed). This is a piece of software that will help you import your data from CSVs into your database. For example, if you’re using Microsoft Excel to download your CSV file, you can use the built-in import tool to get your data into a Microsoft SQL database or Google Sheets. Once you’ve installed the tool, you can begin importing your data.

If you don’t have an import tool already, you can use this step to install one from Google or Microsoft.

Import The Data

The third step is to import the data. Once you’ve installed the tool, you can begin importing your data into the relevant database or spreadsheet. You’ll find a button in the upper right corner of your spreadsheet that looks like this:

  • Import
  • 1.1 Million Records
  • Fully Migrated From CSV

Click on this button to start importing your data. You’ll need to follow the instructions that are provided by the import tool to get your data into your database. Once your data is in, you can test it by simply logging into the admin area of your site and choosing “Manage Tags” from the left menu.

You can now begin using the tags you just created!

Optional: Delete Existing Tags

An important step is to delete any existing tags that you don’t need. If you’ve been using tags for a while and want to keep them, you can simply click on the “Existing Tags” link that comes up when you choose “Manage Tags” from the admin area of your site to see all the tags you’ve created. You can simply click on any tag to delete it from your database.

This will allow you to start from scratch with a clean slate and any new tags you create.

Once you’ve deleted all the tags you don’t need, you can test the import by simply logging into the admin area of your site and choosing “Manage Tags” from the left menu.

Export As A Reoccuring Download.

The final step is to export your data as a recurring download. This is simply a way of saving your data so you can continue working on it even after you’ve finished the tutorial. To do this, simply login to your account on the dashboard of your site and click on “Settings” in the top right corner. Once in settings, scroll down to the bottom and choose “Recurring Downloads” to see a list of your previous downloads. You can also generate an export code along with the CSV files by clicking on the “Download Custom Code” button. Just type in the code below in the pop-up window and click “Download” to complete the process:

Your code will look like this:

  • REO-CLICKFUNNELS
  • 12345
  • February 2018

As you can see, this code is almost identical to the code you created earlier. The only difference is that this code is used for recurring downloads. Just remember to save all the files in a safe place so you can continue along later. Once you’ve saved it, you can continue on to the next step.

That Was Pretty Easy!

Once you’ve completed those steps, you can rest assured that your data is now easily transferable to your new platform. You can continue along any new steps you have in mind and begin using your new tags without any worries!

As you can see, all it takes is a little bit of planning and a lot of trusting in the tools you selected. Now that you’re prepared to start your new life in a new city, it’s time to say goodbye to the old one!
