Are you an entrepreneur who wants to promote your product but don’t have the time to create and produce videos detailing the benefits of your product? Or perhaps, you’ve got a product that can be improved upon and want to create a guide explaining how to do so? Or perhaps, you’ve got a funny story to tell and want to incorporate your comedy into a video to share with the world?
Whatever your reasons for wanting to create a video to promote your product, business, or story, there’s an efficient and affordable way to do it: through YouTube.
YouTube offers a variety of tools that can help you to efficiently and effectively put together a video.
Here we’re going to tell you about three of those tools:
At the top of the YouTube homepage, you’ll notice a square with an arrow inside of it. Clicking this will take you to the studio area of YouTube. From here, you can launch an all-new video, edit an existing one, or add a text track to an audio-only recording (like a podcast or radio show).
The YouTube Studio is a great place to create and edit your videos. Why? Because aside from being the biggest video hosting platform out there, YouTube also provides the best tools for creating and editing videos. For example, you can use built-in clips to quickly and easily create motion graphics, add music and effects, and then share your work with the world.
Next, let’s talk about Cloudinary. Cloudinary is a video and image hosting service that was originally created for Twitter. However, you can use it to store and share videos on almost any platform or site.
If you want to use Cloudinary, simply log into your account on their website and choose to upload a new video. Then, copy your video’s URL and paste it into a new post on your blog or website. You can also use the YouTube Studio to quickly and easily upload videos from Cloudinary.
Lastly, let’s talk about Revi. Revi is an open source video hosting platform that was built with the express purpose of easing the pain points that come with hosting videos yourself. Revi’s goal is to make video hosting simple, secure, and accessible to everyone.
If you decide to use Revi, all you need to do is copy and paste the following XML into a new post on your site:
<video src="URL to your video" width="400" height="300" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen>
Where can I find YouTube hosting plans?
You can sign up for a free YouTube creator account from either Google or YouTube. After signing up, you’ll be able to post videos to your channel and schedule them to be published at any time. Additionally, you’ll have the option of monetizing your videos (if you choose to do so).
To get started, visit this URL: https://youtube.com/settings and click the Create a YouTube channel button.
From there, you can select a template that will help you to quickly get started creating your channel. To continue, click the Next button.
You’ll now be at the main YouTube dashboard. Here, you can see your most recent uploads, as well as a list of all of your content that has been published (with analytics). To create a new video, simply click the New video button at the top of the screen.
What if I want to host my videos on a different platform than YouTube?
If you decide to host your videos on a different platform than YouTube, you can use one of the services above to integrate your video into your blog or website.
