The majority of websites today utilize some kind of datepicker, also known as a date selection widget or dialog box, to allow users to enter a date, in the form of a birthdate or anniversary, to correspond with an event or to make a purchase.

Often, to enter a date, users have to navigate through a list of options that are pre-populated with possible dates. While this might work well for selecting a particular date for a booking or a delivery, for certain events (i.e. engagement or birthday parties), it can be cumbersome for the user to select a date from a list of options that they might not be familiar with.

In this blog post, you will discover how to add a datepicker to your Clickfunnels account so that users can easily select the date for an event from a list of options that are pre-populated based on the user’s location and organization.

Step 1: Download and Install the WordPress Mobile App

The first thing that you will need to do is to download and install the WordPress mobile app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Once you have installed the app, navigate to the menu under Settings and select the Help tab. If you have more than one app user, you will need to select the correct account to proceed with activating the datepicker. If this is the first time that you are setting up the app with a new account, you will need to verify your email address first.

Step 2: Configure the Plugin

Once you have activated the app with the correct account, you can navigate back to the menu under Settings and select the Plugin option. In the search bar, type in Plugin and click on the first result:  WooCommerce’s Date and Time Plugin.

Click on the ‘Install’ button to proceed with the plugin installation.

Step 3: Activate the Plugin

Once you have installed the plugin, navigate back to the menu under Settings and select the Plugins option. From here, you can deactivate or activate the plugin by clicking on the ‘Active’ or ‘Inactive’ button for the Date and Time Plugin.

Step 4: Add New Fields To The Form

Now, we need to add some additional fields to the form that is used for the WordPress login. To do this, click on the ‘+’ icon under the Contact Info heading to add a new contact form element. Name the new element ‘event_date’ and choose a ‘Text’ field type for the value. Click on the blue ‘Save’ button to add the new field.

Repeat this process for the birthday field by clicking on the ‘+’ icon under the Location heading and adding a new value, with the name ‘birthday’ and a ‘Text’ field. Once again, click on the blue ‘Save’ button to add the new field.

Step 5: Add The Validation Rules

With the new fields added, it’s time to add some validation rules. To do this, click on the red ‘X’ in the upper right corner of each field, one by one. When you are done, you can click on the blue ‘Save’ button to confirm your changes.

Step 6: Preview Your Work

Now that you have finished adding all the form elements (including the validation rules), it’s time to preview your work. Before confirming your work, you can click on the ‘Preview’ button to preview the form as you will ultimately see it on your site.

When you click on the ‘Preview’ button next to a field (i.e. the birthday field), you will see the default value for that field (i.e. ‘Choose A Date’ or ‘2017/12/31’). As you can see, the date is populated based on the user’s location and date format. If you are happy with the way that the date picker is displaying, click on the ‘Publish’ button to confirm your changes.

When you click on the ‘Publish’ button, you will notice that the preview popup will disappear and the form will reload with the date that you selected. If you are happy with the way that the date picker is implemented, click on the ‘Enable’ button to activate it.

If you would like to add more options to the selection, click on the ‘+’ icon under the Contact heading and add more fields. You can add more locations by clicking on the ‘+’ icon under the Location heading and adding more fields.
