Introduction

When you set up a funnel with ClickFunnels, you’ll notice that there’s a small link button next to the “Add to Funnel” button. This button allows you to easily create custom links to take visitors to other places on your site.

You can use this feature to create links for any occasion, whether it’s to take people to a different page on your site, open up a login page, or send people to a purchasing page.

The Basics

To create a custom link, follow these simple steps.

  • Go to your dashboard.
  • Click on the “Custom Links” icon (the little envelopes next to the “Add to Funnel” button)
  • Click on the “+” symbol to create a new link.
  • Enter the URL of the site you want to send people to.
  • Add a description about the link (optional)
  • Click on the blue “Build Link” button

When you enter a URL, ClickFunnels will try to find the best and most suitable affiliate program that fits that URL. If no suitable affiliate program is found, it will direct your visitors to your default affiliate program.

Three More Things

Here are three more things you need to know about creating custom links with ClickFunnels.

  • You can add up to 20 links to your Funnel.

Advanced Usage

Here’s where it gets a bit advanced. In order to create a successful link, you need to follow a few tips. Before you start adding links to your funnel, it’s important to understand how they perform. So here’s a quick tutorial on how to measure the effectiveness of your links.

  • Get a free trial of Google Analytics.
  • Go to your Google Analytics dashboard.
  • Sign in to your Google account.
  • Click on the Behavior tab (it’s the last one)
  • Click on “Linked Sites”
  • Choose any link you’d like to track
  • Click on “Create Tracking ID”
  • Type in a name for your tracking ID (e.g. “Product demo link”)
  • Click on “Create Tracking ID”

Now that you have a tracking ID, you can go back to your Google Analytics dashboard and find the “Product demo link”.

You can use this link to track the actions (e.g. the date and time someone clicked on it, the URL they came from, whether or not they converted, and more) on your website. You can use this to track the success of any link you create using ClickFunnels.

Using Affiliate Marketing to Generate Leads For Your Business

As we mentioned above, if no suitable affiliate program is found for the URL you enter, ClickFunnels will try to find your affiliate program based on that URL. But you have another option: you can use affiliate marketing to promote and sell your product.

Here’s how it works: you’ll create an affiliate market for a product that someone can purchase. When someone purchases that product, you’ll receive a commission. You can use this to seamlessly and effectively promote and sell any type of product you’re promoting, regardless of whether or not it’s affiliated with or connected to your business.

We’ve created a free guide that will teach you how to create successfully driven affiliate plans that bring in the revenue you need to grow your business.
