I am often asked how to display a PDF on a web page. Truth be told, it is not that hard because there is an incredible plugin called Elementor Pro that does exactly that. In this tutorial, we will use the amazing tool to quickly create a beautiful and functional PDF website using ClickFunnels.

Setting Up The Website

Before we begin, make sure you have a WordPress website. If not, you can use Bluehost to get started with WordPress in less than ten minutes.

Next, install the Elementor Pro plugin from WordPress.org. When installed, you will see a small panel in the WordPress dashboard. Elementor Pro is a free and open-source plugin that allows users to create beautiful HTML documents with a few clicks of a mouse.

Once you have downloaded the plugin from WordPress.org, click on the Elementor icon in your WordPress dashboard to launch the plugin’s settings. Be sure to check out the Elementor Pro documentation for a comprehensive list of available features.

Adding a Fresh Coat Of Paint With The Button Library

One of the best things about Elementor Pro is its extensive library of layout buttons. These are essentially graphic designs that you could use to highlight sections of your content, define a mood or tone for your project, or simply add a bit of visual spice to your design.

For our quick and easy tutorial, we will use the brand new Flat Theme by WordPress.com. If you don’t know, the WordPress.com team creates the themes that are used in WordPress.org. So, if you’re already a WordPress user, you know exactly what kind of theme to expect from WordPress.com. This is because the Flat Theme already comes with all the necessary styles and widgets required for a complete website.[1]

To add a bit of polish to our button library, let’s add a few grunge textures, some metallic highlights, and weatherproof the whole thing.

Adding Text To The Buttons

While you’re in the Elementor Pro plugin’s settings, you can add text to the buttons. For instance, let’s place the following text on the button’s background:

“Get the facts”

To add a bit of color to our text, we will use the awesome font Awesome 5 Brands. You can download this awesome font from Google Fonts. All you have to do is click on the icon in your WordPress dashboard to visit Google’s web fonts directory. Then copy and paste the URL for the “Basket Ball” font into your Elementor Pro settings.

Awesome! Now, when you preview your website, you will see that the text has taken on a life of its own and appears to be overflowing from the buttons’ edges. To be honest, this was a bit unexpected and it took me a while to figure out what was causing this issue. But don’t worry, this is a typical bug that often occurs when using web fonts and has nothing to do with Elementor Pro. Once I figured out how to fix it, I was good to go.

Adding An Image To The Buttons

An awesome way to spice up any design project is by adding an image in the shape of a button. To do this, click on the “plus” icon next to the “Image” option.

Then, click on the Add Media button to bring up your media library. From here, you can choose an image and use the Arrow keys on your keyboard to move around. When you’re happy with the placement of your image, click on the Create button.

Viola! You now have a beautiful icon that you can use to identify a button on your site. Super easy!

One more thing, you can add a border around your image by clicking on the “plus” icon next to the Borders option. When you’re done, just click on the Create button to generate your button design.

Adding an image to a button is an easy way to make it stand out. But you have to keep in mind that this is not a replacement for good old text. The image will only serve to identify the button and will not impact the behavior of the user in any way. So, if you have a button that is supposed to represent Confidence, you might want to go with a picture of a strong woman rather than a pretty face.

Creating The PDF

After we have our website completed, it’s time for the really fun part: creating the PDF. To do this, click on the PDF icon on the right side of the WordPress dashboard.

You will see that WordPress has automatically switched to the HTML mode. If you’re not in the mood to create a digital copy of your brochure, you can switch back to the regular WordPress editing page by clicking on the pencil icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

Now, it’s time to bring in the heavy artillery: the Elementor Pro plugin. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the editing page and select the Merge option. You will see that your entire website has turned into a massive collaborative document. This is perfect because we want to keep all the design elements we have created so far in one place. Plus, it makes it much easier to work together. Everyone’s eyes will be on the same page and no one will be distracted by multiple tabs open in their browser. Plus, you can always go back and change something later on if needed.

When you’re happy with the state of the document, click on the Save icon at the top of the page.

Viola! You have just created a fully functioning PDF website that you can send to potential customers. Isn’t that what you wanted from the beginning?

Congratulations! You have just created a fully functioning PDF website that you can send to potential customers. Isn’t that what you wanted from the beginning?

Was this easier than you thought it would be? Adding a fresh coat of paint on an already finished website can be hard. It is always better to start from scratch instead of using an already made website because you can always add more complexity to an existing site. Take your time with this and you will not regret it.
