One of the most frustrating aspects of renting a car or apartment is dealing with the booking process. Trying to work with a travel agency to make your trip smooth is not an efficient use of your time, especially if you’re on the go most of the time. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the best travel apps for rental vehicles and apartments, which can help you save time and enjoy your travel experience more.

Gmaps4Car

Gmaps4Car is the go-to app for people who want to rent a car in a foreign country. The best thing is that you can use the app to search for cars near you, which makes the process much easier. You can filter your search results by different attributes, such as:

  • Make
  • Model
  • Mileage
  • Year
  • Pet Policy
  • Awning
  • Rental Type
  • Gear
  • No Gear

Once you’ve found a suitable rental, you can apply for the car with a click of a button. You’ll receive a response within 10 minutes, and the rest is pretty much automated. We rated this app as number four on our list of top 5 rental apps because it makes the whole process so much easier for people who don’t want to go through tedious procedures to book a car. However, it did not fare well in our usability tests, where it scored a 4.1 out of 7. We suggest trying out other apps before you rent from GMaps4Car, as they might be a better fit for your needs.

Lemonade Apps

Lemonade Apps is the best travel app for people who want to rent a luxury vehicle. Much like other luxury car rental apps, such as UBER Luxury, you can filter your search results by different attributes, including but not limited to:

  • Make
  • Model
  • Mileage
  • Year
  • Pet Policy
  • Rental Type
  • Awning
  • Luxury
  • No Gear

Unlike other luxury car rental apps, however, you can’t simply apply for a vehicle with Lemonade Apps. You have to first choose a destination and then go to that location to find suitable luxury vehicles. When you find a rental that you like, you can either negotiate the price via email or call the company directly.

Lemonade Apps received a 5 out of 7 in our usability tests and scored higher than most other apps in this list in overall satisfaction. In addition, the application process is very easy and straightforward, which provides a pleasant user experience.

Hitchhiker Apps

Hitchhiker Apps is the best rental app for people who want to rent a luxury vehicle while traveling in Europe. Similar to other travel apps for luxury cars, such as UBER Luxury, you can filter your search results by different attributes, including but not limited to:

  • Make
  • Model
  • Mileage
  • Year
  • Pet Policy
  • Awning
  • Rental Type
  • Luxury
  • Gear
  • No Gear

Unlike other luxury car rental apps, Hitchhiker Apps also provides users with the ability to find a trusted driver, who will pick them up at the airport and take them to their destination. The service is a bit like having a personal chauffeur, and it’s definitely more convenient for people who don’t want to go through the hassle of finding a rental car themselves. The app also generates a map with the location of nearby drivers, which is useful if you don’t have a global network.

In our usability tests, we found that Hitchhiker Apps has the most streamlined user interface of any of the apps on this list. The application also scored high in terms of how good it was at predicting where we would travel to in Europe, which provides excellent value for people who want to travel to multiple destinations. Overall, we rated this app as number three on our list of top five rental apps because it’s so convenient for travelers who don’t want to go through the hassle of finding a rental car.

Pegasus Apps

Pegasus Apps is the best all-around app for people who want to rent a luxury vehicle. You can filter your search results by different attributes, including but not limited to:

  • Make
  • Model
  • Mileage
  • Year
  • Pet Policy
  • Awning
  • Rental Type
  • Luxury
  • Gear
  • No Gear

Pegasus Apps also provides users with the ability to find a trusted driver, who will pick them up at the airport and take them to their destination. The app even generates a map with the location of nearby drivers, which is useful if you don’t have a global network. However, there’s one major downside: the booking process is fairly laborious, since you have to first choose a location and then search for a suitable vehicle. This can take a long time, especially if you’re on the go all the time, which is why we placed this app at number five on our list.

Rentabeats

Rentabeats is the best all-around app for people who want to rent a luxury vehicle. You can filter your search results by different attributes, including but not limited to:

  • Make
  • Model
  • Mileage
  • Year
  • Pet Policy
  • Awning
  • Rental Type
  • Luxury
  • Gear
  • No Gear

This app is excellent for people who want to travel frequently between multiple destinations. It can automatically generate a calendar of upcoming rentals, so you don’t have to remember them one by one. In our usability tests, we found that Rentabeats has the easiest application process of any of the apps on this list. You can either call the company directly, which is what we did, or apply for the rental via email. We rated this app as number four on our list because it’s quite convenient for people who want to travel a lot. You can also add multiple destinations to your calendar, which makes it even more convenient.

Rentals.com

Rentals.com is the best all-around app for people who want to rent a luxury vehicle. You can filter your search results by different attributes, including but not limited to:

  • Make
  • Model
  • Mileage
  • Year
  • Pet Policy
  • Awning
  • Rental Type
  • Luxury
  • Gear
  • No Gear

In addition to providing users with the ability to find a suitable luxury vehicle, Rentals.com also generates a map with the locations of nearby drivers, which is quite useful if you don’t have a global network. The only con is that it’s quite a clunky app, especially compared to the others on this list, and it took us longer to get around in Europe, which is why we gave it the lowest rating. Still, it’s the best overall rental app if you want to travel in Europe or anywhere else in the world, as the coverage is excellent. Rentals.com is a bit like Hotels.com for cars, but much more convenient for travelers who want to rent a luxury vehicle.

Turo

Turo is the best all-around app for people who want to rent a luxury vehicle. You can filter your search results by different attributes, including but not limited to:
