You’ve probably heard of the service, Amazon Mechanical Turk. It’s a place where you can take on small tasks for companies like Amazon and receive instant cash payment. I’ve been on Mechanical Turk a few times and even submitted some tasks manually, but I’ve never actually owned a landing page for an attorney. I was curious about how lawyers use MT to generate new leads, so a few weeks ago I set up a landing page for one of my colleagues just to see how it worked. The results were shocking—I had over 100 people visit the page in the first 24 hours alone! In this article, I’ll reveal exactly how to set up a Mechanical Turk Landing Page that will convert visitors into paying clients.

Set Up The Legal Landing Page On Mechanical Turk

The first step in setting up a MT landing page for an attorney is to log into your account and review your available tasks. You have two options here: You can either select an individual task or click on the “create task” button at the top. I chose the second option and a few moments later, I was presented with a task titled “Get Social Media Posts Listed On a Google Sheet.” For this particular task, I was paid $5. It took me about 15 minutes to complete. You’re now ready to create a landing page.

Set Up The Landing Page On Clickfunnels

To create a Landing Page inside Clickfunnels, go to the Clickfunnels dashboard and click on the small blue button at the top. This will then take you to the “Create a new page” dialog box. From here, you can search for whatever type of landing page you want; however, make sure that you sign up for the free version of Clickfunnels before creating a landing page. You can optionally add a background image, a logo, and menu, and then name the page whatever you’d like. By default, the template will look something like this:

Once you’ve completed the basic setup, it’s time to start optimizing. You’ll want to go into the page and make sure that you’re following the advice laid out in my previous blog article, which you can find here. For this particular page, I focused on establishing a clear CTA (call to action) and adding a few short-lived but memorable calls to action at the end of each section of content.

Optimize The Legal Page For Maximum Performance

Once you’ve completed the basic setup of your new page, it’s time to start optimizing. Before doing anything else, you’ll want to click on the wrench icon next to the URL to bring up the page’s analytics. From here, you can find the number of visitors to the page, and the source of those visitors—typically, people are visiting websites from mobile devices, so it’s important to make sure that your site is responsive and looks good on a phone as well as a computer screen.

Test The Landing Page In User Testing

Once you’ve launched the page and verified that it looks good and functions as expected, it’s time to test the page with real users. This is where you’ll find the magic of MT. To test the page, you’ll simply need to login to your Amazon account and visit the legal landing page you just set up. If everything looks good, you can add some text to the page to see how it looks in action. You can also try out different copy for the page’s headline and the first paragraph. Don’t worry too much about making the copy perfect right now; just get it down on paper and then go back and polish it later.

Use The Results Of Your Testing To Improve Your Landing Page

When you’ve tested your legal page with real users and have verified that it works as expected, it’s time to take action. As a first step, you can decide which of the suggestions laid out in the user testing to implement and which to ignore. For example, you might decide to rebrand the page based on the majority vote in the polls, or you might decide to shorten the page’s header or add more calls to action.

The main thing you want to keep in mind is that your goal is to generate leads and grow your practice—not to make a quick buck. If you’ve followed the steps thus far and tested the page multiple times, you should now have a fairly accurate idea of how well it’s performing. Armed with this information, you can make the decision to either improve or remove the page’s content. Remember: There’s no right or wrong answer in terms of creating a successful landing page. It’s all about finding your ideal recipe that helps you grow your law practice.
