Creating a sitemap is quite easy in Clickfunnels. So much so that you can do it in a matter of minutes. A sitemap is a crucial part of any website. It documents the various pages and posts on your site. Mapping out the structure and content of your web pages in advance makes it much easier to update and manage in the future. A sitemap is also a great way for Google to understand the content on your site. You can use various tools like Google sitemaps to create one easily.

While it’s quite easy to create a sitemap in Clickfunnels, it’s not so easy to update it whenever you make a change. This is where using XML comes in. Using XML Sitemaps you can easily update your sitemap whenever you make a change on your site without having to go back and update it manually. Let’s dive into how to create a sitemap in Clickfunnels using XML.

Create a Sitemap in Clickfunnels Using XML

To create a sitemap in Clickfunnels, simply visit the XML Sitemaps section of your dashboard. Here you’ll see a list of all the XML sitemaps associated with your account. You can click on any of them to edit the existing map or create a new one.

Each sitemap is made up of two parts:

  • Sitemap.xml: This is the main part of the structure. It contains the important metadata for the sitemap including the title, keyword list, and description. Think of these three things as the “meat” of the sitemap. They tell Google what the page is about.
  • XML sitemap: This is the part that will be changed whenever you make an update to the main sitemap.xml file. It’s important to keep this part in sync with the main file.

Every sitemap also has an XML sitemap associated with it. This is the file that will be updated whenever you make an update to the main sitemap.xml file. When you’re done editing the existing map or creating a new one, click on the “Sitemap” button at the bottom of the screen to save it.

How to Use the Sitemap

Once you’ve created a sitemap in Clickfunnels, you can start to use it. Simply navigate to the URL of a page/post on your site and you’ll see the metadata about that page/post. You can click on the “Sitemap” button to get to the Google Sitemap interface). Here you can see the various pages and posts that are linked to the current URL.

You can click on any of these links to view the page in question. Each of these pages has a “Sitemap” button next to it. You can click on this to view the page’s sitemap. If you’ve just created the map, it will say “No Sitemap for This URL” beside it. But if you’ve been to that page previously it will have a green checkmark next to it.

Each of these pages have a “XML Sitemap” button next to it. When you click on this you’ll be taken to a new screen that will allow you to make changes to the map. If you’ve just created the map, you can click on the “XML Sitemap” button to make edits to it. Otherwise, you can click on the “Import” button to bring in the existing site map from Google.

XML Sitemaps and Clickfunnels

Like any other feature in Clickfunnels, XML sitemaps can be made available to your entire account or just a specific email list. In the latter case, you’ll only be able to see the metadata of the pages that are in that email list. You can’t edit or change the contents of pages that are not in your email list. So if you want to make changes to a page that’s not in your email list, you’ll need to edit the main sitemap.xml file and then reimport the updated map. Having a separate email list for this feature is a great way to keep your sitemaps up to date without having to push too many changes at once.

Now that you know how to create a sitemap in Clickfunnels using XML, you can start using this powerful feature to make your site much easier to maintain and update in the future.
